3-5: Painted Pots as a Valentines Gift

Materials:

1. A small pot for each student.

2. Acrylic or Latex Paint with brushes.

Optional: graphics to cut out and decoupage onto the pot (can be made on the computer) with clear decoupage glaze.

Directions:

Have students paint a base coat on their pot, and then decorate the pot for valentines day. Some decorating suggestions are to paint or decoupage images of tiny ‘candy’ hearts on the pot, full of fun, personalized messages. Dipping a toothpick in paint also allows kids to make small dot designs for a decorative border. Let kids be creative!

These pots can be filled with valentines sweets or be used as a candle holder for a fun valentines gift for a loved one.
