If you could, would you never put a book down? Meaning, would you read all day?

Yes, and have! Wish I could do so over my break but alas I am rushing to finish our yearbook!

Definitely, yes! There are books that have made sacrifice a night's sleep! Of course, this is something that I regretted the next day ... :-)

Reading need not be confined to reading books alone. As long as one is alert one can go on, and it goes on,reading and assimilating the real life book around and even the open firmament at night if it is clear. This, I feel, would be more rewarding.

In my youth I spent many days reading all day and would often read two novels a day. I long for those days now. If I get to read one book of fiction a year it is an accomplishment. This year I read one, and it is only April., so I'm hoping I might get another novel in before September when all fiction reading ends.

These days almost all my reading is related to teaching, mostly magazine articles. Everything else is non-fiction. My current read is Polio, An American Story which won the 2006 Pulitzer Prize in history.
