Posted 11 months ago I like giving books to my parents for Christmas since they're retired. Does anyone have some good suggestions? |

| Posted 11 months ago My parents are loving Jan Karon's new Father Timothy series, I haven't read yet but they are really enjoying. I think that these are best read after the Mitford series as it has one of the same characters. |

| Posted 7 months ago Is there provision for getting the e-Book version of select books? Recently I learnt about "The New Brain..", a book available in The Apple store. As my entry to internet and The Apple is recent, I am yet to get my VISA CARD which enables online shopping. When any suggestions are sought regarding readable books, the interest in the select areas matters much. What kind of books your parents do not like? |

| Posted 7 months ago Dear EDU6, The exclamation "Whoa" (pronounced "Woe") was originally used to tell a horse to stop (Giddyup is used to get the horse moving.)
1 —a command (as to a draft animal) to stand still
Given the current context, I can only speculate that perhaps jarhead was showing awe or (hmm, nice configuration there) surprise at your post. Regards,
P.S.
