| Posted about 1 month ago It depends on how your district and, in many cases, your school allocates the money. In the schools that have chosen to participate in a trial merit pay system in New York City, some schools have decided to only reward core-subject teachers, some have decided to reward all teachers, and at least one decided to reward the whole staff, including the librarian, nurse, custodians and lunch-room workers, acknowledging that not all learning takes place in the classroom and the contributions EVERYONE in a school makes to the processes of teaching and learning. "Learning is not attained by chance, it must be sought for with ardor and attended to with diligence." ~~ Abigail Adams (1744 - 1818) |

| Posted about 1 month ago Although I have long believed in the idea that some deserve more than others...the hard part is how to determine who deserves more. If the principal decides, some would say that he/she is picking friends or those who are loyal. If teachers decide, it could be a popularity contest. If parents decide, how would they know who deserves more. If students decide, God help us all! The Story Starter provides 373,067,200 creative ideas for writers.
