Do you teach in a portable classroom- or worse- on a cart? Let us know your situtation and how you make the best of it. Why has your school found itself over crowded and is there an end in sight?

We are getting close...they asked out art teacher this year to teach from a cart.  She is an amazing art teacher, she seriously gets incredible works of true art out of all of our students.  But she NEEDS a classroom to do this.  Asking her to do what she does from a cart would be like asking NASA to build a space ship from a cart...just not going to be the same at all!  Luckily she pled her case well and has not been relegated to the cart.  For now they sacrificed a middle school elective.

We are over crowded as a private school.  Enrollment is a blessing but we are at the point of busting at the seams trying to keep 900 k-8 students in one building.  There is talk of a separate middle school in the future.  Hopefully it is the near future!

It does seem that the teachers who don't teach core subjects get the boot out of their classes first- which doesn't send a good signal to the kids- but I don't know what the alternative is.
