Pay It Forward is a multi-level marketing scheme of the heart. Beginning as a seventh-grade class assignment to put into action an idea that could change the world, young Trevor McKinney (Haley Joel Osment) comes up with a plan to do good deeds for three people who then by way of payment each must do good turns for three other people.
Kevin Spacey is amazing, but it also shows how being nonconventional can help get through to the kids.
This movie is wonderful. Just think what it would be like if half the world population would "Pay it Forward"
Pay It Forward is a wonderful novel made into a wonderful movie. This is exponential growth at its best and an idea that daren't remain fictional. With the internet, more and more viral actions are happening. Some of these might just change the world for the better. So here I am telling you about this movie. You are the 3rd person I've mentioned it to this year. Now you must tell three other people and tell them to do the same. :-)
The expression "pay it forward" is used to describe the concept of third party beneficiary in which a creditor who offers the debtor the option of paying the debt forward to a third person instead of paying it back.
A schoolboy in Las Vegas, Nevada named Trevor McKinney (Haley Joel Osment) is given a project to complete by his social studies teacher Eugene Simonet (Kevin Spacey), who has terrible burn scars on his face and neck. His task is to come up with a plan that will change the world through direct action. On his way home from school later that day, Trevor notices a homeless man, Jerry (James Caviezel) and decides to make a difference in Jerry's life. Trevor then comes up with the plan to "pay it forward" by doing a good deed for three people who must in turn each do good deeds for three other people. Trevor's plan is to help Jerry by feeding and housing him so he can "get on his feet."
What happens in this film will, at times, thrill and delight you. At other times, what happens will surely move you to tears. And maybe, just maybe, it will move you to Pay It Forward, too.
