Yes, it concerns them. I don't know to what extent it concerns them, but if a teenager's parents are feeling the economic stress, then so are they. Children and teenagers do know when something is going on, especially when it's not good. They become more careful in most cases, just like we do.

You have to wonder if some lower income children are stressed out due to the extra strain of economic troubles on the family budget. Another thing to think about is the high schoolers trying to finance their college educations! I just called my college yesterday to ensure everything was ok for my next semester! I'm an adult, but these 18 year olds are going to have to make serious sacrifices and compromises to get an education. I will bet that larger colleges see a drop in enrollments and local community colleges will see enrollment rise due to tuition issues.

I got a note from a student that he is joining the reserves so that he can stay in college. Nothing wrong with being in the reserves, I just never would have pictured this particular boy there.
