About Me:
I am 34 yrs. old and looking for a sustainable career. I have worked as a Licensed Massage Therapist and Allied HealthCare Practitoner for years, and although I will continue to do so on a small scale, I am looking for something less physically demanding. I really want to make a difference, stay in the health field but apply my knowledge and experience in other ways. I am interested in becoming a teacher, preferrable elementary or special education. I have a healthcare background and specialized in Alzheimer's and Dementia care. I recently shadowed a first grade class of a good friend of mine and absolutely found my niche`. I like this site because it is very informative of my transition from one field to another. Right now I have just begun my journey on the right school-online vs. campus teachings. Any insight that anyone can suggest would be helpful? What worked for you? Where is the best geographical area to teach? What area of teaching is there the greatest need right now? I'd love to know how much range as a teacher we would have in our lesson plannings. I welcome any suggestions anyone has...hope to hear from you :)
