Personal
- About Me:
- Susquehanna Twp H.S., .......I'm a single dad, a Shakespeare fanatic, a guitar player/songwriter, and I'm fascinated by mythology and comparitive religion. I got the travel bug in college, when I spent my junior year in Italy, and then grad school in England. Each summer I take a group of students abroad with EF Educational Tours -- to Italy, Greece, England, Japan, etc... I love it, plus the tour provides free travel and extra income. If you'd like more info, just email me. I teach a really great course called "Shakespeare in Film." We do college-level readings outside of class, keep a reading journal, and then spend our class time watching versions of the bard on film -- discussing, reading passages, debating. If you're curious about starting an elective like this, let me know and I'll give you the run-down on this semester-length course. If anyone has ideas on how to integrate more tech into the English curriculum, drop me a line.

I am taking a tour of Japan with 9 students this summer. Does anyone have any suggestions, specifically regarding cultural etiquette? Places to go in Tokyo?

To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded. -- Emerson

When a resolute young fellow steps up to the great bully, the world, and takes him boldly by the beard, he is often surprised to find it comes off in his hand, and that it was only tied on to scare away the timid adventurers. --Emerson
