Please address these questions asked several months ago. I hold a Masters in Education, have 9+ years classroom experience, and am considering a career move. Please help!"Would be interested in information which indicated what types of jobs teachers who leave the profession typically go to and the average wages in those fields. What type of employers are looking for the skill set teachers usually posses?"

Well i'm pretty darn close to those figures, yet is some school districts in my area with my education level and yrs of experience (2) I would be much higher, and this is from school districts within a 25 mile radius of where I teach.

How did you do this article without mentioning superintendents? District level adiministrators?
Either way, all educators need a merit pay/bonus system to allow for hard work to be better rewarded.

I teach in a suburb of New York City and all teachers in my district have the same salary scale no matter what subject or level you teach. Counselors are also on the same salary scale. Also the teaching salaries quoted are entry level salaries in the New York area.

The pays are probably average and not based on years of experience. I taught SpEd and didn't receive any more pay; in the distriscts I've worked, a regular ed and special ed teacher make the same pay. Interesting stats though.

Sad to say not in the Philippines. Educators salary here is much much much more lower than the other profession. We only survive because of our goals and missions in life.
